Simon Vickers and Paul Carter
'True Clubmen'
Aintree and Croft fans will have noticed the rapid improvement over the seasons of these two riders, who from modest beginnings in 2001 have started to figure in the listings at both circuits. Earlier results were achieved with standard machines; a GSX R750 in Simon's case and a CBR 600 for Paul. Various improvements to the machinery have followed from the end of the 2002 season and this year in particular Simon has moved up the grid and competed just around the top ten. Track time is crucial to this team, which has some potential. NSJ Commercials have been kind to the team, supplying race support vehicle, workshop facilities . Other sponsors are ICI Dulux and J Rostron Engineering, Powerzone Ltd., Burnley Tyre and Battery and Andelle Leathers. The team has enthusiasm and great energy and its performances so far match the effort. Aintree, Croft and Anglesey series will be the targets next season, with hopes of national championship competition the following year. Potential sponsors are offered exposure for their businesses on the bikes and the race transporter.
Simon Vickers and Paul Carter have been joined by Martyn Clegg for this season's campaign. Plans are well advanced, with Simon Vickers riding an ex John Dietermann Suzuki, while Clegg will ride the 750 Suzuki he bought from Vickers. Paul Carter, meanwhile has finally tracked down the engine problem that bedevilled him all last season. The team will race at Anglesey, Aintree and, cash permitting, Croft. Fastrackimages wishes this team all the best for the season.
