Brett Crossley
Dark Horse

Scarborough fans will know all about this guy, who has been a thorn in the side of the great and the good who descend on Oliver's Mount three times a year. The current master of the circuit, Guy Martin, had several enormous clashes with Brett at the start of last season. He is pictured here leaving Jason Griffiths behind at the Spring National meeting. There is no doubting the pedigree of this rider, what stands in his way is top quality racing machinery that doesn't break. That achieved there is no doubt in many minds that he would compete at the highest level. The 1999 R6 is up for sale and a new machine, probably a 1000 is scheduled for purchase. Ideal choice would be a ZX10R or a new GSXR.... everything depends, as always on finances.
The Scarborough meetings are on the list of meetings this year, along with a visit to the North West 200 in May. remembering the impressive performances of other riders at the Triangle, like David Bell, one can only pray Brett gets a decent ride there. Having been to the Island twice with the Hailwood Foundation, an outing at the Manx is also on the cards. So the season holds out the promise of great things. Brett is sponsored by John Warrington Motorcycles in Malton and the former owner of Speedstyle Motorcycle Accessories of Sherburn-in -Elmet.

Following his dramatic appearance in the MGP during which he led the field until an untimely incident above Quarter Bridge robbed him of the race, Bret Crossley has been given full support for 2006 by Kevin and Angela Wood of Investasure and Touchwood . The IOM based couple , it will be remembered, supported Davy Morgan until recently on the familiar yellow machine pictured above. Bret will be competing in a full season's racing, both in Ireland, the Isle of Man and the mainland.
Sad to relate, that following a serious accident at Scarborough at the 2007 Gold Cup Meeting, Bret has had to end his riding career.
